With the Bank Holiday weekend and the prospect of dry, sunny weather finally here there should be no excuse not to be out on your bike.
Firstly we start with a POTHOLE WARNING. Mick Foley has informed us that anyone heading to Mount Leinster over the weekend should be aware that on the descent into Bunclody roughly 600m downhill from the Kilbranish car park there is a large pothole on the left hand side of the road. Mick went to say that you will not see the pothole until you right on top of it. If you are heading over the mountain be careful and pass on the warning to other cyclists.
Saturday Tour
Leaving Aldi at 9.00am, the tour will head to Clonroche then turn left at the Institute and on to New Ross, Dunganstown, Ballyhack, Ramsgrange, Wellingtonbridge, Wexford and home to Enniscorthy. Shortcut options if needed. Approx. 120km.
Sunday Tour
The Sunday Tour leaves town from the Pettits Car park at 9.30am heading south to Murrintown, Newbawn, Adamstown and back to Enniscorthy. Approx 60/70km.
Finally, if you fancy a sportive instead this weekend, the Barrow Wheelers are hosting the Bannow 1169 The Norman Cycle. A 100km cycle around the very south of the county.
