Despite Zero degree temperatures more than a dozen riders left the Duffry this morning. With the roads looking a bit dodgy we took the safe option and headed towards Gorey with one group turning for home at the Monument and the rest heading further on to the Berry farm roundabout. As it turned out it didn’t feel over cold and we soon warmed up. We were delighted to be joined by 3 new guys, Andrew Dowse, Joe Fortune and Ger Leacy who had no difficulties on the spin and we hope we see more of them.
Saturdays training spin went towards Kilmuckridge, Ballycanew and home covering about 70kms and was uneventful apart from a large alsatian which seemed to want to join the club! Unfortunately rain forced the cancellation of Saturday afternoons kids skills training but we hope to back out next week. Pat and Frank were at the Pedal Fever coaching conference on Saturday.
Tours continue throughout the winter at 10.00am from the Duffry Gate. A more structured training ride which is a few kms an hour pacier leaves from the ALDI carpark at 9.30am each Saturday. Patrick Dobb’s turbo training continues each Tuesday in Clonard.
