Absolutely delighted that Paul Bolger has taken Slaneys first win of 2014 at the super tough Des Hanlon Mem Road Race in Carlow today. Paul was cruelly robbed of victory in this race in 2010 so its really satisfying to take this win. Approaching the finish Paul was in a group of 12 that had broken away on the climbs but they were brought back with 4kms to go. With a big bunch sprint inevitable Paul was well positioned taking the roundabout at 500m to go and led out for a great win.

(Thanks to Sean Rowe for the great picture. We can confirm no cones were injured in the making of this photo!)
