Des Hanlon RR, Waller Cup , Liam Bennett TT

As usual the Des Hanlon proved a hard days work with Alan Galavan getting the clubs best result as 4th overall and 1st unplaced S3 in the combined race. Alan has accumulated 6 points in his first month of bike racing and will soon be in the S2 category at this rate!

Alex rode the A/B race with Murt, Dan and Tomasz in the 2 lap combined race and Patrick, Stephen, Bill and Ken in the 1 lap race. Murt was active in the early break in the 2 lap combined race but just missed getting onto the winning group. Frank Dunne made the trip to Bohermeen and finished 15th in the A/B race. Another difficult event, Frank was in the second group which broke away early and finished just behind the winning break. Pictures of both races now on www.irishcycling.com . Willie McDonald was racing in Dublin and took a second place riding in the IVCA league.

I make that 11 racing, 12 on tour and few more sidelined with work or illness yesterday.

Liam Bennett TT league round 1.

Freezing cold. Ominous grey clouds. Gale force cross winds. Anyone up for a time trial? Well 18 fool hardy souls turned up at Carrigbyrne on Saturday for round 1 of the Liam Bennett league, with even the disc wheels taken out of winter storage. Well done to Paul Nolan, Tonto Brady, Alan Murphy, Tomas Romanowicz, Pat Whitney, Patrick Dobbs, Frank Dunne agus mise who took part from the club. Thanks to Paddy Kinsella and Co. for organising.

Results now on Wexford Wheelers site. ( Tonto – I knew you were going well but you were obviously going so fast they weren’t able to record your time!)
