Weather wipes out another tour.

Snowy conditions took out another tour this morning. Hopefully we’re getting our winter weather in the winter and we’ll get some nice warm sunshine in the summer!

Upcoming touring events.

We’ve talked on the last few tours about doing a few more leisure events so here’s a few for your diary.

Bray Wheelers – Paddy Martin Randonee 70km & 100km 22nd February  Details & map on the link. If we can get a gang together to do this event Paul Byrne will provide a van to bring bikes and a couple of riders and a car or two will bring the rest. Its a touring event and plan is to ride at a touring pace and to start and finish together. We can have a chat about it at next weeks tour (snow permitting!)

Naas Cycling Club –  KARE Tour de Foothills 50km & 100km 19th April I rode part of the Barrow event with Martin Earlys brother and he mentioned two touring events they run. The above event is in April while the Martin Early Tour of Kildare takes place in August.

Ring of Kerry Cycle 112 miles.  If you are looking for something more ambitious how about a weekend in Kerry? This events attracts a huge number of cyclists (over 2000 last year). If a group was interested we’d have to look into booking accomodation soon.

Most Important – Don’t forget to support our local events. The Mount Leinster Challenge is the clubs main event for the year and an important fund raiser for the club. We have also had an imput into designing the course of the Tracey Lawlor Sliabh Bhuí challenge and want to see as many Slaney jersey’s as possible on these events.

The Mount Leinster Challenge takes place this year on Saturday May 16th

The Tracey Lawlor Sliabh Bhuí Challenge is on Saturday April 25th
