U16 racing & 10 mile TT on Tuesday

Delighted to see Adam Thatcher and Fionn Jordan doing well against a high quality field in Kildare today. Well done men.

Underage report from Bill Jordan : Adam and Fionn were at the two stage Conway Baxter in Newbridge today. Adam finished 9th in the mornings tt which was a great result for him as he sets out on the road of recovery following his recent illness. Fionn, who is on his own recovery journey, finished 7th in the afternoons road race. This should give them both confidence as they continue to work towards full fitness again.

Thanks to the 12 brave souls who signed on tonight – dry all day and it p****d rain for the 20 minutes + of the TT! Davy Walsh was fastest senior and Seamus Sinnott fastest U16 in great times of 20.15 and 23.51. We do it all again next week.

Two 10 mile TTs will be held on the next two Tuesdays from Ferrycarrig to Enniscorthy. The events are basically training TTs in the run up to the Leinster TT Championships at the end of May so low key is the plan! Sign on will close at 6.50pm at Newcastle (top of Ferrycarrig Hill) with a 7pm start. I’ll do sign on and start and Pat Whitney will do finish. If we get a volunteer holder and a marshall for the traffic lights in Oylegate all the better. All welcome but course not suitable for U12 or U14 – we’ll do a series of 5 mile TTs to cater for everyone later in the year. €5 sign on and we’ll give back whatever entry fee we get in prizemoney on the 2nd night.

(If any U16s want to ride it might be a good idea to have a parent driving 100m behind. The road is still busy at 7pm and the village of Oylegate has to be negotiated. No U14 or U12 please. Remember underage racing goes ahead in Davidstown on Wendesday)
