Tour de France Commemoration Cycle

Update

Accommodation at Silver Springs Hotel now fully booked.

Sign-on will take place at the 1798 Centre, Enniscorthy at 7.30pm followed by reception hosted by Enniscorthy Town Council.  If you are not a holder of a Cycling Ireland Licence one will be issued to you at sign-on.

Transport: We are still looking for final numbers of those wishing to return to Enniscorthy.  Contact Pat Whitney on 086 8172231 as places are limited.

Service Vehicles: If you have spare wheels there will be 2 official service vehicles allocated to look after mechanical difficulties etc.

The lunch stop is compulsory at the Carrick Hotel in Carrick-on-Suir.

Road Works:  There are extensive road works in New Ross.  The Gardai have requested that the peleton regroup outside of New Ross and travel through the town together with a Garda escort.  We will have to comply with these instructions.  The main road into Waterford has been reduced to one lane for 400 metres.  Extreme caution will have to be exercised by all cyclists.  Steel barriers have been erected to restrict traffic flow.

The finish at Little Island Community Centre is just off the N25 on the outskirts of Cork.  A hot shower and refreshments will welcome you all there.  We expect the first group to arrive between 4pm and 5pm with the remainder arriving any time from 5pm to 7pm.

Please remember THIS IS NOT A RACE and helmets are compulsory.  Under no circumstances will participants be allowed to overtake the lead car.  You must abide by the rules of the road and obey all instructions from Gardai and marshals on route.
