Talent Team 2020

Adam Thatcher attended the first coaching day of the new Cycling Ireland initiative Talent Team 2020 on Saturday. One of 16 cyclists selected between 13 and 16 years old the aim of the new project is to keep talented cyclists in the sport and hopefully, through quality coaching and mentoring, develop and guide them towards possible participation in Olympics 2020. The first day was led by national coaches Paddy Doran, Martin O’Loughlin and our own Frank O’Leary.

The first day included the lads getting to know the coaches, a 20 minute run, stretching and core work with Sam Bennett and a presentation from Cycling Ireland. While the lads were on the jog Cycling Ireland explained the process to the parents which, if funds allow, will possibly include racing in Belgium and Holland in the years to come.
