Sunday Racing Update

Gorey 3 Day

Brian Maher and Paul Noble started this morning’s 6.4km Time Trial and both put in a good effort before this afternoon’s 96.4km Stage 3. Sadly, Paul Noble was unable to finish this stage.

Brian Maher will be our sole ride for tomorrow’s final stage from Gorey to Blessington. We wish him the best of luck in the final 85km of the race. This stage begins at 12 noon on the Main Street, Gorey.

With the lively crew that went to Rathdowney, it was a disappointing start for Derek Doyle as his race was cut short by a puncture in the A4 race. It was better news for Fran Maddock and Joe Fortune who finished safely in the bunch for the line. It was especially sweet for Joe as this was first bunch finish in an A4 race.

Unfortunately for John Redmond in the A3 race, he was feeling a bit under par and pulled out of the race before the end. Better to safe yourself for another day.

In the A1/A2 race James Maddock and Fionn Jordan rode well, getting in on plenty of moves but were unable in the end to get into top 10 places in the final push for the line.
