The 2014 Slaney A4/Novice /A4 league commences on Wednesday April 23rd with a road race on theDAVIDSTOWN CIRCUIT. Sign on is €5 and will open from 6.15pm. Sign on will close at 6.40pm sharp to get races off on time. First race off at 6.50pm. Format like last year underage off first, than a 5 lap handicapped novice and A4 race. In order to take part all riders MUST
- Have a Cycling Ireland A4 or club competition licence (the leisure licence is non-competition and will invalidate our insurance)
- Have registered on the Wexford Racing Leagues website. (Underage do NOT need to register but must have a CI licence)
If you would like to race but haven’t applied for a licence please do so over the weekend. If you are having trouble with a CI licence drop me an email at secretary@slaneycyclingclub.com Likewise if you have any problem with the marshals website and I will get Derek Webb to sort out.
- Lead cars & marshalls – we will not run the races unless we have sufficent marshalls to ensure the safety of riders especially our underage. The new marshal systems will give us 5 marshals for each race but we still need our ‘old reliables’ to drive, marshal or help at finish so please feel free to volunteer! New CI regulations means each underage race also now requires a following car. If you are not racing please come along and help run the event.
- As you know there is limited parking so keep well in off the road, don’t block residents entrances or leave rubbish behind. In particular if you need to take a ‘natural’ break go find an empty field. We had serious complaints in the past about riders using a residential driveway in view of local children. This is unacceptable and will result in the loss of a great circuit if it happens again
