SERC Three Peaks Challenge 2017

There was a great turnout of Slaney riders for today’s SERC Three Peaks Challenge. Joe Fortune, Trevor Swaine, Larry McDonald, Warren Gillen, Gillian Power, Pat Whelan, Brian Maher, Mat Seebach, Peter Kirwan and Murry McDonald all set off from Arklow in glorious sunshine for the 107km event.

It is run over a very challenging route including climbs of Slieve Mann and Glenmalure. Some Slaney riders showed serious form on the climbs.

Unfortunately the day was marred somewhat when Slaney member, Peter Kirwan suffered a nasty crash descending the Shay Elliot close to Laragh. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and all in the club wish him a speedy recovery.
