Another great night of racing tonight in Davidstown for the SCC A4/Novice race.
A fantastic ride from the Over 50’s handicap group who were spotted a 3min. 30sec. start on the main field. The group of 7 quickly dwindled to a group of three. David Allen W.W, Francis Maddock SCC & Roberts Roche W.W forged ahead and for the next three laps they gave back only 1min. Reduced to just two riders, David & Francis, as they took the bell still held a 2min05sec on the field.
At the finish the two sat up and crossed the line together showing great respect for each others effort and some real sportsmanship after a great ride to stay away to take the spoils. Chapeau gentlemen.
The main field closed up within 30 secs by the finish with week 1 winner Hugh Byrne having the measure of the field again.
A big thank you to all for coming out again tonight and especially to all marshals and lead car drivers without whom none of this would be possible. See you all at the Frank O’Rourke on the weekend and back here next Wednesday night.
