Ryan Byrne improved on last years Bronze medal by taking a well deserved Silver in the U14 section of the Leinster champs in Kilmessan yesterday. Seeing race favorite, and strong sprinter, Adam Stenson (Lucan) slightly boxed in Ryan unleashed his trademark sprint effort a little earlier than he had planned and almost held it to the finish line but was just pipped by Stenson. Slaney’s Reece Young took 5th place in the race just behind the latest in the Roche dynasty, Nicolas Roche’s younger brother Alexis, who placed 4th after traveling home from France for the race.
