Due to the awful weather forecast for Munster today the whole SCC crew travelled to Stamullen and it proved a wise decision as although cold the weather remained dry and the racing in Fermoy was cancelled.
We had two in the A4, Tonto and John R, and unfortunately the lads had a day to forget, that can happen to us all, so forget and roll on the next race.
Mixed fortunes for Fionn, Ryan and Reece in the a3/jun race which was run on a tough circuit around Stamullen and the Naul, I definitely say that Meath is not as flat as you might think! Fionn easily got over the climb with the best but then the air in the back wheel deserted him and race over. Reece was comfortable all day and went to the line with the best and finished just one place outside the prizes. Ryan showed great determination to make it back to the leaders, having been dropped the final time up the climb, and took a fine 9th place in the sprint for yet another top 10.
Back to that part of the country again next week for a Drogheda Wheelers run race on Sunday.
Thanks to Bernie and Amy for the support today.
