Ras Naomh Finian
The main racing in Leinster last weekend centred on Clonard, Co.Kildare. Raced in better weather compared to the previous weekend despite the high winds three Slaney members, Matt Seebach, Paul Noble and Gillian Power decided it was worth the trip to Midlands.
All male grades raced the same flat 76km circuit with the Ladies Intermediate League Race ran over a distance 47km. With such a short distance to be raced, racing was always going to be at a fast pace from the very start. In the A3 Race Matt raced well but finished just outside the top 10. Carrying on his sparkling early season form, Paul was able to better himself in the placing this week, finishing the race in fourth place and earning enough points to be upgraded to A3 with maybe a craic at the Gorey 3 Day next month. We wish Paul every success in his new grade.
Paul Noble in the place again. Matt Seebach in the A3 race. The A4 sprint for the line as Paul finishes 4th.
In the Ladies Intermediate League Race, Gillian Power competed in a field of 52 other competitors. This was ran over a very flat 47km circuit which saw a very tactical race take shape. With 5km to go Gillian was surprised to be still in the bunch and was able to gain a League point at the end for her efforts.
