Entry has now opened for the 8th edition of the Mount Leinster Challenge. Its become one of Irelands most enjoyable sportives and you can expect more of the same on May 18th. Same old painful mountains, same old dodgy foodstop!!
Entry is again restricted to 300 riders, no entry on the day and online entry is now open on the Mount Leinster Challenge Page (As in previous years we have a separate entry process fro Slaney members so don’t enter online to leave the 300 places for visitors.)
**We’re getting close to a full house for this years Mount Leinster Challenge so if you haven’t entered yet nows the time!**
- We want everyone to enjoy The Mount Lenister Challenge as a great, social, leisure day out on the bike. The event is not a race but we know a lot of people like to compare their climbing times for the main climb of the day, The Corrobutt Gap. To add something for those of you with Garmin or similar devices and signed up to Strava we’ve created a new Strava segment for the climb. Just upload your time for the segment on 18th May to Strava by Wednesday 22nd and we’ll send a quality Pactimo Ascent jersey below worth €70 to the fastest man & woman on the climb. Its entirely up to you if you are interested in posting your time, theres no cost and we hope the competitive souls out there will enjoy it! (Plenty of local names seting great times here on last years event!)
- Can Slaney members NOT riding the Mount Leinster this year give a hand to run the event?Marshals required for various points along the route and the mountain.Give myself, Mick Byrne or Mick Howe a text to confirm. This is the clubs only fundraiser of the year so its all hands on deck please.
