Some good riding but no luck at today’s Mark Hayden Memorial in Kildavin. Shane Kelly had the most impressive ride of the day riding across to the break of seven early in the A3 race. The break had 50 seconds at the bell but a fierce chase in the last 5kms saw the race come together in the last 400m with Paul Flynn (Carrick) taking victory. Paul Bolger punctured out on lap one, but Mike McLean, Dan Szczech & Caimin Ruth all finished well.
Tonto Brady & Tom Lucas both punctured out of the A4 race but Stephen Kelly & Ger Leacy were in the final sprint but finished outside the prizes. In the A1/2 race Davy Walsh, Frank O’Leary & Alan Galavan were also outside the final mix up in a race that split into numerous small groups of strong riders.
