Many thanks to everyone who took part in our ladies cycle this morning. We hope all the cyclists enjoyed it and we plan on having similar events in future. Thanks to lead and support cars, everyone at Patrick Dobb’s in Wexford, and the Slaney cyclists who supported on the day. All proceeds from sign on go to the Ard Aoibhinn centre.
Also if you enjoy this spin I’ll be posting details soon of a 20mile charity ride organised by Ken Blanche starting and finishing in Myshall on Saturday 30th.
Slaney CC’s ‘women only’ cycle will take place on Sunday October 10th. The aim of the spin is to encourage women to participate in a challenging but achievable cycle. Any age or level of fitness or experience is welcome – all you need is a bike and a helmet! The ride is to Wexford along the N11 where we’ll have a refreshment stop at Pat Dobb’s Fitness studio in Clonard before returning home. We’ll have a support vehicle in case anyone has a mechanical issue and no one will be left behind. We highly recommend a road bike for your own comfort but any type of bike can be used. We’re charging an entry fee of €10 with all proceeds going to Ard Aoibhinn Services in Wexford. Thanks to Bill Jordan for the original idea and Rita Boyle who has taken the project to the next level but unfortunatley won’t be able to ride following her injury at the recent Rás na mBán in Kerry. Thanks also to Patrick Dobbs who has offered the use of his premises for the feed stop.
