The touring league continued this morning with 9 riders heading southwards in bitterly cold, frosty weather but at the least the roads were safe. Over the past 6 weeks the tour has had 27 different riders out on Sundays with an average of 13 riders each week. Given the way the membership is spread out with riders in the south and north of the county and also in Carlow and Kilkenny its great to see such numbers participating.
The final points scoring tour of 2008 will take place on 21st December, with a break over Christmas and will resume on January 4th. With the first open race of the new season on 1st March 2009 (Cycleways Cup, Navan) the winter league will finish on Sunday February 22nd giving another 8 counting Sundays in 2009.
