Great results in Ballinrobe & Gorey(& Fermoy)

*Didn’t realise until I read Peters report on the forum that Adam & Fionn made the trip to Fermoy! Well done lads – Slaney jerseys all over the country this weekend. The underage boys also had a great evening in Camross on thursday evening- U16 1st Neil Kelly, U14 1st Adam Thatcher, 3rd Fionn Jordan, U12 2nd Darragh Jennings, 4th Marc Thatcher and U10 1st Conor Ruth.

Some great racing results from Slaney riders this weekend. In Ballinrobe a strong Slaney team put in some great perfomances. In stage 1 Davy Walsh finished 8th with Frank Dunne 14th and Shane Kelly 30th. Stage 2 saw Davy miss out on a TT stage win by just 7 seconds with Frank 13th and Shane 24th. The final stage saw Shane take a fine 9th place to move to 17th overall. Frank finished 16th overall while Davy finished 5th. These placings saw Slaney finished as 2nd team on GC. The 3 Slaney lads were joined in the composite team by Eoin O’Shea who finished 51st, just under 9 minutes down on the winner, while unfortunatley Patsy McCaffery had a tough weekend and was a non finisher on stage 2b. GC sheets now uploaded to http://www.westernlakescc.com/#/news/4526613437

In Gorey in the A4 Patrick Dobbs took a fine 4th place as he continues his return to open racing. Stephen Kelly, Andrew Dowse, Ger Leacy & Mick Byrne were also racing. In the A2/3 race Alan Galavan was away in a break of 7 for most of the race but they were brought back on the last lap. In the bunch gallop Murt Doyle and Alex Williams were also to the fore but missed out on the placings which Dan Szczech was a non finisher. (sorry if I missed anyone!)  I’ve uploaded a few photos at http://pix.ie/LiamR . I’ll stick up a bigger batch tomorrow.
