I first met Derek Doyle 2 years ago at the food stop in Borris for the Blackstairs Cycling Challenge. While talking over cup’s of tea and sandwiches, Derek was expressing his thoughts of joining our club, which of course he did.
Starting with the merry ramble of the Sunday Tour, Derek as taken to challenge himself to the racing side of cycling as well. Last year he won the Davidstown Novice League and his good progress has carried on into this year with some solid league races culminating in last night’s second place in the SERC A4 race in Inch.

This goes to show that with dedication, determination and an effort to push yourself out of your comfort zone, you can achieve any of your goals.
And with the Eddie Tobin Memorial Race fast approaching Derek should nothing to fear.
