Slaney Cycling Club wish all our friends, supporters and sponsors a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2015!
We thank each and everyone for their contribution to, or participation in, our many events in 2014. We couldn’t provide any events without your assistance and we look forward to a great 2015.
If anyone is looking for a spin for a great cause on St Stephens Day why not take on the Liam Bennett Memorial charity cycle. Its starts and finishes at Kinsellas of Killeens at 10am and heading to Rosslare Harbour and back. Liam Bennett was very good cyclist, a great hurler and a true gent.
Training group update : Nollaig Shona to all, hope ye have a good one but not too good for the race training group, ha,ha.
Make sure ye keep getting the miles in over the holidays as the season will be here before we know it, Newbridge grand prix on the 8th march for example, so lots of hard work in the New Year.
The training group will get back out training together on the 10th of January, same time same place for a block of training to take us to the start of the season.
It will have been a month since our last training spin so it will be good to see who has been putting in the work and for the lads that were not able to join us before xmas due to injury, etc make sure ye make a big effort to be there in the new year as the group ride will be of great benifit to ye and ye will also add to the group, so win win for all.
If the group would like to meet some night before then for to discuss whats planned it can be arranged if not we can discuss it on the road.
It would like to get a mid week turbo session going as the training is very controlled and not as boring in a group but only if we have the numbers.
by the way does anyone know if the training races are taking place in gorey next february?
