Absolutely thrilled that Ken Blanche won tonight. An absolute gentleman and great friend to cycling in Co Wexford. Ken will be filling goodie bags tomorrow night, when you get to the bottom of Mount Leinster on Saturday Ken is that man that will have swept the junction and be marshallng the bend and only a few hours before he drives to Dunboyne to work for the Barrow Rás team as soignuer for the week. Deserves his place in the sun!

Great start to the league tonight with 49 adults and 19 underage riders signing on. Thanks to everyone who supported the event. Apologies for delay in getting started but hopefully we’ll have things a bit tighter next week. Deciding on the format and make up of groups took a bit longer than expected. The three group format for the adult race seemed to work fairly well with all groups almost coming together on the finishing straight. This will be tweaked again for next week. For the first time we had sufficient numbers to run a standalone 4 lap U16 race together with a one lap U14/12.

Well done  to race winners Chris Proby SERC, Seamus Sinnott Wexford Wheelers and David Nolan SERC.

Thanks to Mick Byrne & Pat Whitney on the finish line. Gwen Thatcher, Nicky Stynes and Paul Nolan drove lead cars and thanks to the two motor bike marshals from SERC. Billy Roche, Stephen Flood and David Maguire marshalled at the final bend and Gabriel O’Neill and Sean Kavanagh at the far bend. We couldn’t run the event without your help folks and we really appreciate it. For next week can any other club members please come forward and give an hours assistance at the event.
