Brain Awareness Week 8-13 March: Pat & Mick were contacted by the Aquired Brain Injuries group who have a unit in Ballymurn. They are trying to raise their profile and the issue of people aquiring brain injuries thru accidents, crashs etc. They are looking for a photo op for the local papers with a cycling group WEARING HELMETS. If anyone would like to come along we’re meeting at the Aldi car park at 10.00am on Saturday 6th and cycling out to Ballymurn. The photo should take only 5 mins and group can then split into a training or touring group for a spin. All welcome – the more the merrier!
2010 Licences: All the licences ordered have now arrived. I have posted the full licences and numbers out and they should have arrived by now. I’ve hung onto the club licences as I’ll probably bump into most people on the tour/training spins and pass them on. As usual things don’t always run smoothly with CI. While all the first time applicants set up this year seem to have a correct address anyone who was renewing a licence from last year seems to have been moved to Co Westmeath! I also note that both Arklow and Bray are now in Co Wexford. I will get onto them and see about getting the adresses changed. I’ll try and get an update on the handbooks/calendars too.
Marmotte: If anyone fancies a trip to the Alps this summer there is a place available on the Marmotte trip. Theres a big bunch of cyclists (and cyclists WAGS) from Slaney, Wexford and beyond heading over and with the experience gained from last year it should be a great trip.
